BASIC CONCEPTS – GOODS – V

IV) On the basis of mobility
Transferable and non transferable.
Most of the material goods are transferable. Here transferable means change in ownership eg land, vehicle etc.

Non transferable goods refer to personal qualities like skill, intelligence etc which can never be transferred.

V) Personal goods and impersonal goods.

Personal goods refer to personal qualities of a person and they are non material ie internal to man eg skill, intelligence etc. They are also known as internal goods.

Impersonal goods are generally material goods and not personal goods. Eg land, furniture, vehicles etc. They are external to man therefore also known as external goods.

In short, personal goods indicate “what man is” and impersonal goods indicate “what man has”.
